where: Ljubljana

The 2008 MARS annual conference - the fourteenth of the series - was jointly organized by the GEOCAP Action of the Agriculture Unit and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia. The conference, which was entitled “Geomatics in support of the CAP”, took place from 03 to 05 December 2008 in Ljubljana.

The Conference was an opportunity to review the 2008 achievements, the problems and solutions found by Member States, as well as the technical progress and plans for the 2009 campaign. As usual the conference was also an opportunity for MS Administrations, EU officials, Image Providers and contractors to meet and discuss particular problems or innovations.

Like in 2006 and 2007, we introduced this year, through a peer review selection panel, a technical proceedings that includes the 10-12 of the best presentations. The authors were invited to submit a short paper (around 6 pages, details to be confirmed) which will be included in a JRC special publication, peer reviewed by the panel, made up of 8 participants.
